If you’ve got the itch and empty wall space that’s in need of a little excitement, go crazy with Chalkboard Paint!
Whether your house is a family home that needs a functional place to host reminders or if you’d like to design a space that adds a touch of creativity to a room – this project is really straight-forward and can easily be completed in just one weekend.
If you’re not quite ready to commit to a main area in the house, a chalkboard wall is the perfect addition to children’s bedrooms and home offices.
Watch the video above or check out the instructions below before getting started…
First things first, start by masking off any areas you don’t want to paint with tape. This will ensure you get a straight, clean edge.
As with any painting project, make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from grease or contaminents by wiping down with a damp cloth.
For larger walls we suggest using a roller. Give the paint a good mix and pour it into your roller tray.
Now you’re ready to start painting. Some people prefer to start with the edges and work inwards to the main section. For this we recommend a 1-inch paintbrush.
For best coverage apply two to three coats and leave to dry. Remember to leave at least two hours between coats to ensure a smooth finish.
